Anantnag villagers protest, demand upgradation of High School

Anantnag, Jun 15: Scores of students & people of Guree, Bijbehara area of Anantnag district held a protest demonstration on Thursday afternoon demanding the upgrdation of the local Govt High School to the Higher Secondary level.

Locals said, “the school was upgraded from Govt. Middle School to High School in 2002 since then no steps were taken to upgrade this school to higher secondary level.”

The locals lock down the school in protest against the government and also raised slogans againist concerned MLA for playing politics in this matter, adding the upgradation of this school was ignored due to poltical resons.

“The school was upgraded to high school in 2002, if government did not fulfill our demand to updagrade this  high school to Higher secondary level, we will go on strike then government will be responsible for everything”, said Mohammad Ashraf. 

“Injustice is being done with us as government is not fulfilling our genuine demand to upgrade this high school. The government is playing with future of our children by not upgrading the school to Higher Secondary level”, said Imtiyaz Ahamad.
